He is refered to in the Bible by many names and symbolic ideas (IE: a rock, a lion, etc).

The two you mentioned represent aspects of his person. He is refered to as a lamb in the Bible because the lamb is the perfect sacrifice. He is refered to as the shephard because He leads the flock (His church) like sheep.

Hope this helps.

Why do some people say I am a good person and other people talk only of my faults? Which is right?

Why did my mom call me her daughter and my brother call me his sister? Which one was right?

Why do some people call me a lady and others call me a woman? Which one is right?

Why do some people classify me as human but others say I would be a homosapien? Which one is right?

Jesus has not only called The Good Shepherd and the Lamb of God, He is also known as the Lion of Judah, the Bright and Morning Star (Rev. 22:16), The Great Physician (in a worship song); Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace, (Isaiah 9:6), the Rock that followed Israel (I Corinthians 10:4), The Word of God (Rev. 19:13), Comforter, my Guide, my LORD and my Saviour and other things titles, too. He has many identifying labels. Each one has its own meaning.

Jesus was a shepherd of the flock(humans) and he was also the Lamb of God(sacrificial kind-Jesus was killed for humanity's sins)who paid the price that humans would be able to get back to God and be heard.1 Corinthians 5:7 ,James 1:29,James 10: 1-18. Peace.

Christians are His flock so Jesus is referred to as the "Good Shepherd". The bible says without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin, therefore Jesus was also the sacrificial lamb to pay our debt for sin.

Long ago, people use lamb as sacrifice for their sin atonement.
Jesus is lamb beacuse He sacrifices Himself for our sin atonement. So that since then, no one uses lamb anymore to cleanse their sin, but by praying to Jesus.

Jesus is a shepherd (a good shepherd), because He cares for his sheep. When one got lost, He will find it. It's a parable.

Because Jesus is the shepherd and we are His flock, but just as a lamb was sacrificed in the old testament, Jesus was sacrificed for our sins in the N.T. So He is the " Lamb".

Interesting question.... On one hand He is the lamb that knows and follows His Fathers voice. On the other, He is the shepherd that, we his flock, can follow and trust. Just different points of view I guess, but I've never really thought about this one before.

As The Head of The Church He is The Sheperd.

As the one who was and is the just sacrifice for all of the sins of mankind, The sacrificial Lamb, He is the lamb of God.

Jesus is a shephard to the church. He is also called the Lamb of God because he humbled himself as a lamb when he willingly died on the cross for our sins. Traditionally sheep where used as a sacrifice to pay for sins. However sheep could not cover all sin for all time. That is why Jesus is called the perfect lamb of God because by humbling himself for us his blood covered all of our sins.

Jesus said, " I AM the good shepherd, who gives His life for His sheep." Jesus is the Lamb of God without blemish. (He never sinned against His Father; So He is the sacrificial Lamb for our sin.) Israel/Juda is His flock and He has another flock who are those that follow after Him from all nations; And are redeemed by His blood. Jesus said, "My sheep know me and follow after my voice. They will not follow after wolves in sheeps clothing."
