This warning comes in WIN Xp/2K OS when Scan Disk is scheduled to run. If scandisk is scheduled, u must restart ur sys for Scandisk to run. Once scaning is done, u can defragment the drives.
Win 95/98 may not defragment the drive in which OS is installed, in case u have loaded the OS many months back and Have installed a lot many of sofwares or Drive is filled up.

It's telling you the answer. You'll have let Chkdsk run first. And it's probably set to run at the start of your computer loading Windows. So try rebooting first to see if this solves your problem.

Reboot first and allow chkdsk to run. Then you will be able to defrag.

simple just run Chkdsk d: /f . it will fix everything

reset computer and try again.

If the message keeps appearing and not scheduled in scheduled tasks (assuming you have windows) add that information.
