It never worked for me. There was too much tension with the transition from friend to boyfriend. Always the "does he like me? What does it mean when he says this?" kind of drama. My husband was a blind date, and it worked out so much better for me, because there were never any games being played. We both knew that the only reason we keep seeing each other was because we liked each other, and if either of us would have changed our minds and decided to break up, there wasn't the uncomfortable "taking sides" that happens when you have common friends. So I guess it's different for everyone.
