This talks about that stuff:

I have read from reliable sources that lots of unhealthy stuff goes into pet food, including waste materials from slaughtered animals. I did even read in one place that dead pet animals (that have been euthanized or whatever) are used. I don't know if that's true! But just to be on the safe side I buy quality brands of pet food such as the one my vet sells, which is based on fish protein (for cats) rather than animal waste products.

That is why some foods are so cheap. Read the ingredients, if the protein source is a mysterious meat/bone meal then find a better food. Just because the kibble is in cute little bone shapes and called a cute name does not mean it is good.

yes, most of that is true. The main ingrediant is horses tho. They have people working for them called buyers who go around to all of the livestock auctions and buy cheap animals. Most of the ones they buy are either skinny, sick, or have been badly injured. This is the "quality ingrediants" that companies are then getting you to feed your dog!! Thats why so many people recently have become full believers in raw diets and all natural diets for their pets.
