With all the different brand dog food, I am not sure what one is the healthiest choice for my puppy. My dog has not started to eat dry food yet. I was considering Flint River Ranch kibble. Does anyone one have a better choice based on experience? Initially, I will buy a small quantity in case my dog will not eat it.

Look for a brand that has little or better yet no corn in it. There hard to find but we were told and found it to be very true that corn usually is not good for ther dogs fur and skin and promotes hair loss and skin problems. There hard to find but they are out there. Our dog used to shed and scratch alot until we switched food. It was unbelivable how much better he looks with this new food. Its Avoderm. There are others but I know this one works! Oh ya it comes in small bags too but ask if they have samples. Our pet store gave ma a few samples to try first.

Your best bet is to look at the ingredients.
The 1st ingredient should be meat (NOT byproduct).
The 2nd and 3rd should be meat or meat-based (byproduct)
If any of these is filler (corn, rice, etc) move on to something else.
I personally use ProPlan - its expensive but its worth it to keep my 2 dogs healthy and happy.
You can still use a good food even if your dog doesn't like it, just only feed him/her that and eventually it'll get hungry enough and realize its this or nothing. Taste isn't as important as content & quality.

purina proplan small bite for puppies and eukanuba small bite for puppies. if you don't want to pay for pet store quality food and would rather buy grocery store quality then try the purina one puppy formula or the iams puppy small bite. but you should stick with a rice base food and not a corn.
