His first wife was older than him by 15 yrs n was a widow 2 times over.
His second wife was a widow n older than him
Apart from Hazraat Aysha (R.A) whom he married when she was the age of 9, all other wives were either divorced or widowed.
N this marriage was needed because after his death, there had to be somone clever enough who would live long enough to guide the Muslim community to the right track. She was one of the few who had enough knowledge n who did guide the community.
He had a good reason to marry. At that time, there was too much war and there were more women than men. They had to be given protection. There was only one solution. Marriage. N he kept them, not divorced them. I ask u, in today's world, will any man marry a widowed/divorced woman older than himself and not divorce her till death!?
If U say he is a bastard, than what about u? All of u, in the name of chritianity or other relegion, u go out n have sex with anyone u like. Without proper marriage! Without anyting!!! U guys don't show any remorse!!! Y don't u look at urselves first?

Don't hear every thing you hear and don't assume, specially about some one that obviously has the most enemies in the world. His wife was age 9 yrs old or older, he also married his only child Fatima @ age 9 yrs old to Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib. Women back then matured a lot faster, specially w/ the type of food and the hot atmosphere. This is common every where. Christian Mormons usually have dozens of wives today and some times a lot of them are younger than 9 yrs old. Most prophets actually had more than one wife and even concubines; e.g. prophet Suleiman had over 1000 wives, prophet Jacob, prophet Abraham, etc. The 18 year old concept is a new man made law. A lot of American states have a 14 yr old marriage minimum, other places in Europe and Canada it is 12 years old. A lot of Americans molest their own children but we shouldn't judge a religion by their followers. Also, 60% or greater of American men cheat on their wives; statistics.

I was under the impression he married his friend's daughter, not wife, and she was 6 years old, but he didn't consummate it until she reached the ripe old age of 9. Unless she was a very early developer, I think she most likely wasn't in puberty yet.
Ismael, children are developing younger now than ever in history, and 9 is still too young. Kids in Mohammed's time did not mature by the age of nine, that's ludicrous. People did make marriage contracts when the kids were very young back in those times, but it was customary to wait until the child went thru puberty, and that did not happen with a 9 year old girl, unless there some something physically wrong with the child, some sort of birth defect, which is extremely doubtful.

He had an eight year old wife. It was his best friends wife. His best friend had no power with in the religion. He was jsut a follower. Muhammed wanted his BEST friend that had been there since the beginning to have some pwer as Muhammed knew he was dieing. SO yes he took her as a wife. He did not make love to her untill she was of puberty. I wish people would get this right. If you want any more information I have the facts of it.
