I am looking to find my dad, we lost contact about 6 or 7 possibly 8 years ago. What is the best place to start looking in the UK?

there is also a site where you can leave a message. i can't remember the site but you can ask if anyone knows him. look for a missing relatives site. good luck

p.s the red cross can also look for him if you contact them.

Blimey! I have no idea. But I just had to answer to say good luck!

PS Kookydoo has an extremely good idea: electoral roll. The other way is to find someone who works in a company that deals with large numbers of customers through a call centre, such as a water company or a telephone company. They might have access to a thing that used to be called BT Phonedisk - you could do reverse searches on it - put the name in and the address comes up. But beware: you might be asking them to break some fairly important rules in doing this.

If you have and idea of the area the best place is the eletro roll. you can do this via the web but it does cost money- not alot mind. but dont use the cheapest site- not always the most reliable. go to official goverment or council one. good luck!

www.192.com or www.b4usearch.com.

If you have a name and a rough area these are a good place to start.
