Almost all places have a limit, check with your cities website. I would be careful getting on their radar though, if you have more than 2-3. Don't think animal control won't come in and seize them if you are over your limit! Happens all the time!
Limit laws are unbelievable stupid. They do not stop hoarders who have a mental illness, and they do not stop the people who have one or two dogs and leave them outside all day barking or otherwise being a nuisance. I have 5 dogs and they are well taken care of, quiet and do not bother anyone. But a couple of neighbors have one dog and it is way to much for them. Some people can handle many dogs, some can't handle one.

It all depends on your living situation. Like if you live in a studio you'd probably be limited to 1 or 2. If you live in a huge farm house it's going to be alot more.
Only way to find out for sure is to make a quick & simple call to your local SPCA office.

Depends on your township/city, county, and state. They all can have laws regarding this. Contact your local government first since they would probably know if the county or state has any sort of limitation.

This is determined by each city or county. Here it is 3 or 5 (3 in our city, 5 if you live in the county, which is more rural.)

I would think as many as you can afford to take care of. Plus you have to actually take care of them and not throw them out in the yard. Each dog needs to be registered with your county's animals control.

in most states you can only have 3-5 pets at anygiven time. you need a permit to own more and you would have to use that permit as a bisness or pet shelter to have it. each state is different. As your local vet they would know the most about the subject.

Most counties set the rules, so contact your local animal control office and ask them to be sure.
