NO!!! Those things are part of our self, who we really are- our "shadow" as some like to call it. The things we most regret, are ashamed or wish never happened are just as important as those feelings/experiences of joy, love & true happiness. You need to have balance. You learn from these things, they have made you who you are today. What dosen't kill us makes us stronger-it's cliche, but so true!!! You are the sum of your parts, we are multi-faceted beings!!!

I would have to say yes to your question. Taking away bad things could only be positive.
Making mistakes means nothing in life unless you have learned that they really are mistakes - if you keep doing the same thing over and over - if you still haven't realized that you are wrong - there is nothing to gain - it is only a loss for you and the people who have suffered because of your mistakes.
Usually it is not the mistake you have made that teaches you - but when 'someone else' does those things to 'you' and only then do you realize how wrong you were.
A prime example is the way that slim people treat fat people. (or people treat the poor) It is not until they themselves become fat (poor)and see how rude people treat them, that they learn to never act or think like that again.
Really their own past cruelty toward others did not make them better people - the cruelty of others and their new circumstance is what really made the impact on them.

Let me put it this way. I've made many mistakes so far in my life. But I don't regret them or wish I could take them back because those mistakes made me the person I am today. I couldn't even guess at the type of person I'd be if I could take back my mistakes or somehow eradicate whatever I felt bad about.

I at first was going to say yes, then I read the first answer and re-thought things.
It's a result of my pain that I changed some of my ways, even slightly.
You learn from your mistakes. If you wipe out your mistakes you wiped out what you learned.
It might be a nifty idea to wipe away all you did that was wrong, but that wouldn't necessarily make you right!

The answer to this questions lies in another question. Do you like who you are now? If yes, then you shouldn't want to change the past, even the bad parts. They made you who you are.

I would say no, because then how would I learn about conviction, or how would I feel bad about what I did if there was nothing to feel bad about?
