Irregular cycle, anywhere from 24 to 32 days. I've heard you can ovulate anywhere from the 3rd to the 22nd day of your cycle. Given the chance that swimmers can live up to 5 days. Is my information correct? If not explain. What is the likelihood of pregnancy?

Becoming pregnant would not be a dreaded thing.

Sperm can only live up to 48 hours. A good way to monitor an irregular cycle is body temp. The temp should peak around ovulation time and the decrease. If the temp peaks and stays the same. then you are pregnant.

You get your period about 12-14 days after ovulation. Swimmers can survive for 5 days, so that gives you 7 days when you can't conceive. The problem is that you can only count these days backwards from your next period, not your last one, and you can't be sure when that will be, especially since your cycle is irregular. So basically there are some days on which you cannot conceive, but there is no way of knowing which days. Well, there is a way of measuring your temperature at the same time daily and making charts (your temperature rises on ovulation), but you have to do that for a few months to realize how it works. Also, on rare occasions you can ovulate twice in a cycle, so basically you are never 100% safe on any day, even if you had a regular cycle and you knew when you ovulate.

You have a really good chance of becoming pregnant during ovulation. Good luck with it if you are trying to get pregnant!

Don't risk it. ALWAYS use some kind of birth control. Even if you are on your period, there is still a good chance that you can become pregnant.
