Marinate it in bbq sauce overnight. Then, light the grill and get it to a medium heat. Turn the chicken every 5 minutes. It takes about 35-40 minutes to do it this way, but it will remain tender and no blackmarks on the outside--assuming you cleaned the grill.

My all time favourite is:

Get some fresh rosemary and classic olive oil...put the chicken in that mix for about 30 minutes.

if you are cooking chicken breasts, take the "back" of the breast and rub a pinch or two of salt on just that side. Put that side down on the grill. (this helps keep moisture in). Then take your oil mixture and brush on the top. Cook until the chicken doesn't stick and turn over...

continue to put the oil on, this keeps moisture in too.

viola.

If you boil the chicken for 15 minutes before putting it on the grill, your chicken will melt in your mouth and people will be amazed at your talents!

Boil it first on your stove so that it is cooked or partially cooked. Then put it on the grill with whatever sauce you desire...ginger, teriyaki, bar-BQ, lemon pepper. This keeps it from drying out before it is cooked all the way through.
Boil for a bout ten minutes and grill for about ten minutes

depends if you are using boneless breasts or whole pieces or a whole chicken. boneless i like to marinate it in jerk seasoning and cook over a high heat, whole pieces over medium heat but dont add sauce till the very end or it will burn ( sweet baby ray's is a good bottled sauce ) and a whole chicken i split down the back so it lays flat. just make sure to use a meat thermometer and insure it has an internal temperature of 165F
