Ive been with my girlfriend for almost three months now. Things are going well between us and we are very close. I was over at her house the other day and she was taking a shower since she had just gotten off of work. We were planning to play a few games so I grabbed a notebook off of her dining table to use for a score pad. I opened the notebook and flipped through the beginning, looking for an empty page. I came across a short letter that was addressed to me that she had written. We had exchanged "love letters" before so I thought this was the start of another one. Curious, I decided to read it and now I wish I never had. In the letter she said she couldn't sleep because something was eating away at her inside. She said she felt that I was hiding something becuase I had acted really distant this one day. Ive been fighting depression for several years now and things have been getting better since I met her. I feel like I've seen something that was never meant to be seen. What do I do?

You didn't do anything wrong if you discovered the letter the way say you did. Tell her you saw it & read it, you guys need to talk about this before something happens and makes it seem worse than it really is. Don't let the "snowball effect" do this to your relationship if you really have feelings for her! Good luck :-)

Hi, I would simply approach her at a time that seemed appropriate and without mentioning the note, tell her that you have something you want to share with her. Tell her about your depression and tell her that it has been better since meeting her. I would suggest after that though that if you are not already seeing someone and being treated with the propoer drugs that you do so immediately. Depression can temporarily get better during the throes of a new relationship, but eventually the same old symptoms will return. There are so many new drugs and therapies. Don't waste any time suffering with it. If she is truly interested in you and cares about you, she will be supportive of your atttempts to heal yourself and your relationshi[p will be stronger for it. Good luck

You should tell her like you just told us! It wasnt like you were snooping around deliberately. this was an accident. I bet you that this will put her mind at ease and maybe next time when you are having your distant moments she will be able to understand and maybe help you come out of it!

be honest with her. tell her what happened and how it happened. keeping secrets will always ruin a relationship. maybe this "accidental" reading of this letter will open up a much needed conversation between you two. good luck.

Talk to her.....it sounds like your struggling with a problem, and she care enough to notice, and be interested. You gotta take a chance and let people in.
