No, I was recently tested when I started fertility treatments...they always test you for that before you start any treatment. And since it was negative and my husband and I are in a monogomous relationship, there was just no need to get tested.
I think it's a good idea for everybody to get tested, but honestly, had I not been tested for fertility treatments, I probably would not have gotten tested on National HIV/AIDS testing day. There is just so much of a stigma that goes with even thinking you might to the point of getting tested! People think, "Oh, they got tested. They must have it." Doesn't matter what the test says.
HIV/AIDS is not a death sentence if you get medication and take care of yourself. I remember when we found out my aunt had HIV...she was barely 21. We all thought she was going to die. But she's well into her 30's now and there is no doubt she is going to be a pain in our asses for years to come. Why? Because she has been treated for HIV & AIDS by expert medical professionals and no other reason.
Still I doubt many people get tested on June 27th. The test should always be free, always be encouraged by medical professionals and always be confidential. Until that happens, people willl continue to walk around ignorant to their status because that is just so much easier.

I am in a committed and monogamous marriage, and I donate blood regularly, so no I didn't feel the need to get tested, and besides, I had no idea that it was national AIDS testing day.
Another person that answered had a great question, who does pay for all these tests?

I didn't take advantage of that particular program..However did get test 3 weeks ago..
It's sad that many will reject the opportunity to get tested to help decrease the spread of this disease that's killing so many. Unfortunately, we live in a society where most don't believe it can happen to them or they just don't care. By not getting tested, many have no knowledge of having the disease, in which they continue to spread the disease by infecting others.
People get tested regularly..AND practice safe sex. No sex is safe sex...For those that aren't married. But if you insist on having sex outside of married be safe..Wrap it up!
So many already have proven by point by answering NO..need to..
