I agree with you. Maybe they mean because that person couldn't face the things that were troubling them and took the suicide route to avoid the problem.

They Are Called a coward Because They Took The Easy way Out. The Majority Of people Commit Suicide because They Have A problem And Instead Of Looking For A Solution they Quit (Suicide). Cowards Run Away from Problems. And Thats What Most suicides Are About.

It's because people always want someone to blame or be mad at. People also say that suicide is selfish but I think that when a person feels it's their only out they are not being selfish, they are just feeling hopeless and are maybe a little misguided.
Maybe another reason is that they feel like the person is just trying to escape their problems rather than work through them. Sometimes it is harder to face your life and the situation you are in, than it is to jump in front of a train. I don't think that they mean physically a coward.

I think that they call them a coward because they couldn't face the problems that led to the decision of suicide. If they were strong and not afraid then they could work through problems that seem impossible when first faced. Although jumping infront of a moving train, swallowing a bullet, or hanging would take some amount of courage/stupidity it is still an escape. These a just my thoughts, I hope that suicide is not something that you yourself are considering. If it is, please talk to someone.

I fyou are so afraid of your life that your best option is to run out in front of a bus than you are a coward. Every person on the planet has problems, it's called life. if you can't deal with it, you are a p u s s y

not so much coward i would say selfish. i use this word because alot of suicides leave no letters to say why. which leaves the question to their family's and loved ones the big question forever on there minds. why ????? this stays with them the rest of there lives and the guilt of this is so unbearable. the pain is unspeakable. alot of ppl that commit suicide i know are deeply trouble by life. but just a note of why would save others from the deepest hurt.

"Coward" is a little harsh, but I think the reason is that the person is assumed to be so afraid of life that they'd rather take an easy way out instead of facing life's challenges.
It's an oversimplification and needlessly harsh, but I think that's where it comes from.

I don't think they are cowards. I think it would take alot courage to do that. I mean they could sit around and be depressed; but they should go for help. Have you ever thought about committing suidcide? I think it would take a lot of guts to kill yourself.

Turning away from the problems and challenges that we face is cowardice. Suicide is the ultimate in turning away.
The ironic thing is that most people who commit suicide do so in order to end the pain/suffering that they feel. And, they do. But, their no longer around to benefit from the fact that the pain has ended.
