God displayed acts of justice, not hate. The plagues, the deaths in the Old Testament were before the new covenant, which was Jesus. Once He, as an innocent, died on behalf of all of us, we are no longer guilty, and God doesn't have to judge us like in the Old Testament anymore- as long as we accept Jesus Christ as savior.
God created the world, and is the only perfect one in it, with the right to take justice on it, since he gave humans free will and we choose to sin and disobey. That is not hate, that is true justice, which is what you talk about when you describe wanting to kill someone who killed a loved one. The difference is, God is the only one who has the right to avenge, not us. The Bible says "vengence is mine, saith the Lord."
Satan is the one who hates. He tricks and deceves every one into hating, and committing acts of hate. There are some religions that claim to be peaceful, but are not. There are many verses in the Quran that tell people to kill the "infidels" (Christians and Jews), and have no mercy on them.
My God, the one of the Bible, teaches us to love our enemies, help our neighbors, and let God set right all the wrongs. The New Testament is what is fully relevant to our life today, since we live after the crucifixion. The Old Testament is still relevant in many ways, but a lot of things like rituals and sacrifices for sin are not necessary anymore because Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. We pass things in the Old Testament through the cross: it deletes some things (like sacrifices), changes some things, and keeps other things the same.
The two covenants are described in Jeremiah 31:31-34.

God has righteous anger, meaning he hates sin, and does not tolerate it in any way. does he hate the sinner? no.
the Christians that are being accused of hate (except for a few that are a few fries short a happy meal) are not being intolerant and hateful, they are copying and pasting the Bible, word for word. so what people are saying is hateful and intolerant is the word of God.

No, God only hates sin, not the sinner. And why do we? Silly question, when Adam and Eve sinned, they exchanged the pure, Holy character that they were created with for the one that Satan has, cruel, hateful, spiteful, fearful, &c,&c. That is why by our nature we hate, and not love, which we have to learn to do.

no and yes. in the bible it says ake no graven images before me. not to bash on hindues or budiest but they have engraven images. It is the job of the christian to convert them and spread gods words. personally it comes into play what religion are you. i bealive in the golden rule. Aslo i bealive in the seven judgments of christians. the last being if you have not accepted god but lived a life of christian values and good heart then you will be allowed to sit next to the son and the fatherm in the final judgement.

well sorry to say it but even if u are a christian god displays acts of hate. (thats if u want to call it that) example dstroying people for doing wrong. musa (moses) peace be upon him killed a guy for working on the sabbath. the plagues sent to egypt i mean what do u call of that? i call it punishment in the end i think of people who display hate some of it is needed. if some one attacks u and kills your family because they are wacko they deserve to die. there is no love there. any religious book calls for justice to be served.

God doesn't hate anyone! He only hates sin, which comes from the evil one. But people tend to like sin....so their sins make them hateful....!
