Life vest, sunscreen, water, sandwich, empty container for packing out garbage, extra paddle, camera, and a helmet if you expect any rapids. I also recommend one of those type 4 throw floaties that can be used as a seat cushion.

Want an easy way to start a fire. Cut thin strips off of a tire, sure, rubber burns with black smoke, but it burns a long time and the smoke goes away after the rubber is burned up but the wood is burning brightly. Doesn't waste matches and takes only one clic of your Bic.
