I can't really imagine most people would, unless what you believed in was bad and you'd be happy for it not to be true. I personally always want the truth as it makes you a more rounded and informed individual. There's something wrong with you if you accept things on faith...I need facts and if I don't know the facts then I search until I can find the answer!

And exactly who's interpretation of the truth should we refer to? Every religious nut says that there belief is the truth according to whatever their dogma printed up. For Christians it is the Bible, for Muslims, the Koran, for Jews the Cabala, for the Buddhists, Hindus, etc. So one religion is the truth and all of the others are wrong, but not one shred of evidence exists. Which is why we call thesee faith based religions. What faith are you? That should be the extent of religious discussion between thes sects, because war and discontent are the outcomes of going any further. History proves that without a doubt.

If someone could prove to me that what I believe in was not true then yes I would absolutely want to find the truth.

Yes...but we're never going to find out that what we believe isn't the truth. If you believe in God and heaven, but then you die and stay dead, you're not going to know about it. The only exception is if you believe in reincarnation and then end up in heaven or hell. By which time you dont need to find out the truth.

you sound like a christian to me for asking this question but since i am always willing to put my two cents in i will just try enlighten you.

every human being on this earth has a religion of some sort and it is true to them only and dont try to enforce it at all. in my spiritual path i found no truths in any religion but all religions and then i found there is no "aboslutes" in any religion no matter what your belief or non belief is at all.

personal truths on what you believe should be personal and not forced onto others for any reasons but as i am also on a path to correct the mistakes the world has made i should say seek within for your own answers and question your own beliefs to help you understand your own paths in life

my regards to you for asking anyways

Yes, as a former Christian, then Atheist, now Christian again I would like to know. Sad fact is, there is no way of knowing and we are all full of hot air. Live life in a manner that will make you happy, without compromising the happiness of other people.

Yes but since I can prove my faith and to the existence of God, there isn't much room for me to be wrong. Don't want to seem arrogant but it's the truth.

It depends exactly what I believed in that wasn't true :-)

E.G. I believe that I exist - I'd hate to find out that I don't :-)
