I myself got what I wanted (a girl).
Men want boys because it's a lot to deal with when you have a daughter. With a boy there isn't so much to worry about as he grows as it is with a girl. A girl needs to prepare for body changes as she grows and most of us men aren't able to explian certain things she may be going through. Then you have the when shes old enough to date issue, knowing how boys and men could be. With a boy all you have to do is make sure he grows up and be respectable as taught and hope he doesn't get any girl pregnant since he can't get pregnant. Then most of us figure it sould be a male who carrys on the name of his father.

I guess it's because what they know. They are a boy so they will know how to handle a boy.
Why do ppl assume that girls only want girls? I had a baby boy and when I was prego w/my 2nd everyone said OHHH hopefully you will get your girl. I said WHAT I DON"T WANT A GIRL. Then they would be shocked why not..1- boys are easier 2- girls are fine until they are teenagers 3- I have hand me downs for #2 so it works out better!!

Well to answer your question i think it is because a guy can better related to a boy and believe they have less to worry about as they get older than they do with a girl!!!!

They want to see their own childhood in the male child, probably to correct the wrongs they have done in their younger days. Or maybe to give the male child what they had always wanted but could not get.

Nothing wrong in having a female child either.

Its Gods gift(although the labour power is suplied by the husband-wife team)The Technology is copywrited to GOD.

Go ahead, have what you get. And be satisfied with what you get.

Since they are men, they think it will be easier to understand their kid as it is growing up. It is what they know.
I am pregnant right now, and I want a girl for the same reason.

Don't worry my husband wanted boys also (now we have 3) and he hates it that they are all "mamas boys" they don't like him. He WISHES he had a "daddy girl" I think once that baby comes he is going to be the proudest dad out there.

It is just a man thing,,, we get over it. I have 3 girls and would not change a thing. There is nothing better then daddy's little girl, men only see that after they experience it!!!!!!

First of all, I want to say you are sooo awful to be saying that about kids!!

Now, second, I want to say that it depends on the man so stop being so general, okay? Have a nice day.

I think that maybe they think it'll be more fun because they can teach a boy 'guy stuff'. Plus they don't want to worry about a daughter dating when she becomes old enough! haha.
