It depends on the state. Some states (like california) it is legal to sit in the back of a truck only if there are bolted seats in the back with seatbelts, this law is the most common. In other states such as Nevada the law is the same but officers do not inforce the laws. I believe there are only 2 or 3 states where it is legal.

Yes it's legal to sit in the back of a truck as long as the truck is not moving on the road.

I think it depends on how old the person is and what state you live in. I'd check your local laws, but just remember what will happen to the person in the back of the truck if the truck is involved in an accident. They might go flying out of the truck bed. I don't think I need to say anything else, you know what might happen as a result of that.

I would guess that all depends if the truck is moving when you are sitting in the back. It also probably depends on if you own the truck or have permission from the owner to sit in the back of it-when it's not moving...

No. Legally, the maximum number of occupants in a vehicle=the maximum number of seatbelts. Unless you install some in the back of your truck, it's not legal; and even if you do, it's STILL not legal anyways.

It depends on the state I know in California it is illegal.. you must have a seatbelt on while riding in a vehicle - so I guess if you bolt a seat in the back of a truck and seatbelt yourself in it would be fine..

No, it is not. This became law in many states in the 1990's. Check with your local DMV or law enforcement agency to be sure.
Whether it is legal or not, don't allow it. It is not safe. There is no protection or seatbelts to prevent ejection in an accident.
