He sold for the $$$$$....He was a crook and he sold it without even letting the Mexican people know. What were Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, California, Arizona were sold to the American govt for a pennies. Thats like half the US, a huge chunk of land.

I guess the reason some think it was stolen was because the people living in this area and own land, once being Mexico became USA. Many were furious and could do nothing. So many did leave, they didn't want to belong to US and they lost their land.

Well, whether the land was bought, or won in a war, or whatever ... the truth is it belongs to the United States now ... even Mexico's own constitution spells out the borders of Mexico, and I haven't seen any reference in that to California, or New Mexico, or Texas ... what difference does it make anyway? We're dealing with the realities of TODAY, not yesteryear ... these illegals are really getting above themselves, I mean at the same token Russia should claim back Estonia, Sweden should claim back the German ports, etc., etc. ... how far back are we supposed to go? All this is nonsense, and a stupid excuse to be here illegally!!!

Apparently, they closed down the artillery WAY too early back in 1848, because the way things are shaping up, the 'reconquista' fans seem to think they have what it takes to try and muscle their way into the southern United States again. Well, that's what you get for believing your own propaganda, I guess, too bad our state governors are too wishy-washy to just put the national guard in force in the south, and put the INS on patrol with a fleet of chartered schoolbuses. The mexicans are basically in the process of calling our bluff, maybe a good question to ask is how will YOU answer the next time you see the mexican flag being marched down Main St., USA? There comes a point in time when you have to say 'no mas', and I think we're getting there...economy's one thing, national sovereignty is something else, and if Bush isn't going to lead the charge on this one, then it's time to put someone in office that'll help Mexico to understand its' soon-to-be-diminishing role in america's future. There ARE no jobs 'that americans won't do', just jobs our government hasn't done for so long they plumb forgot it was in the job description! LOL Illegal immigration is a Big Problem, some states 'get it', others appear to be blinded by the allure of the money they think their state will be making off the whole deal.
At the end of the day, Mexico's laughing all the way to the bank, they've been planning this crap for YEARS, and no steenkin' american federales are enough to scare THEM...but maybe 280 million american citizens might get er done...there is that whole 'We, The People' business and the archaic and quaint practice of 'voting', where Vox Populi goes down for public record and reference, and recall elections and so forth, and citizens' groups such as the Minutemen, kudos to those states that are taking initiative on supporting the border fence initiative, and cracking down on employers that hire illegals. But, they still gotta go home, no matter where they're from, not just Mexico, and they gotta find work in their own economies and their governments need to work harder to look for ways to provide opportunities for all that to happen. I think the key to national law enforcement, just like with local law enforcement, lies with the citizens and their capacity to take good and positive initiatives to see to it that the laws are, in fact, enforced, the laws at issue in this case being immigration and labor laws. If you wanna move to america, fine, get in line, otherwise fix your own problems at home...

Illeagls are attempting to manipulate people through their emotions, especially that of guilt. It's very difficult not to feel sorry for someone who relates a plausible tale of suffering in a sob story or "poor me" drama. They use every incident or opportunity, no matter how insignificant, is exploited, exaggerated and if necessary distorted to become an event of dramatic proportions. Everything is elevated to crisis proportions often they give an Oscar-winning performance in this respect. So I guess the people south of us are really brave marching in our streets demanding rights and amnesty, but they sure are COWARDS when it comes to making any change in their own corrupt countries or helping out in the world stage of events. Is it any wonder the Chihuahua is the preferred dog, all bark, and no bite?

Well it's been American soil for how many years now? And for those in Mexico who said we stole it from you, what about what your ancestors did to the natives there in Mexico? You ancestors killed them and used them as slave labor and then stole the land. So if you are insisting that Texas and other parts of the southwest belong to Mexico then I suggest you have to get out of Mexico since your ancestors stole it from those who were there first. Oh wait a minute, is that why all of you are coming up here now?

Santana is a guitar player. You, my friend are referring to Santa Anna -- whose full name is Antonio López de Santa Anna. Go to this link to get the details.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_L%C3%B3pez_de_Santa_Anna

"Acting Texas president David G. Burnet and Santa Anna signed the Treaties of Velasco "...in his official character as chief of the Mexican nation, he acknowledged the full, entire, and perfect Independence of the Republic of Texas." In exchange, Burnet and the Texas government guaranteed Santa Anna's life and transport to Veracruz. Before Santa Anna could leave Texas, 200 angry volunteer soldiers from the United States threatened to remove him from his boat and kill him as it was leaving the port of Velasco. Back in Mexico City, a new government declared that Santa Anna was no longer president and the treaty was thus null and void."

We stomped the crap out of Mexico. We marched U.S troops down the main street of Mexico City, for God's sake. We could have taken the whole country if we had wanted. They should be glad we didn't. Isn't it strange that they have only now started to "reclaim" the Southwest? Hmmm...maybe, we should just burn everything we (Americans) have built there, erect walls, and give the Southwest back to them...even more desert for them to cross to get to another wall.
