Obviously my relationship with God is more important than my religion. My religion is a big part of my relationship with God and is still thus very important, but my religion can often be wrong! For example, while God is perfect and my relationship toward Him is molded by *me*, my religion cannot be changed. It is in many of its own ways imperfect and out of my reach in changing it with merely my everyday actions. My religion lacks homosexual tolerance, while in my relationship with God, I trust that he accepts everyone the way He made them. Why wouldn't that include homosexuality? My religion can also be corrupted by its leaders, like priests. Some of them are molesters.
My relationship with God is something that I can always depend on, but not my religion, sadly.

God of course- That is the only way to Heaven- not through your religion but by God alone. Your religion just helps you to learn and be stronger, but God is the most important. Your pastor- or whatever you call him- will not save you and you will not go to Heaven by him. God should always be first.

My relationship with God. 'Religion' and 'practice' are just the by-products of that relationship.

I think, to an extent religions are man made devices. I mean I call myself a certain thing, but I don't agree 100% with everyone else who does.
and if I were wrong about something, I'd rather accept God's instruction than try to follow man's traditions.
so I'd say my relationship is way more important.

the relationship with god
i have seen people who practice all the outward trappings of being religious but go utterly against the word of god in their other parts of life.
i have seen people who know nothing about a religion or a building associated with it or a official associated with it. and they are the humane and really a blessing on this earth.
so i would say religions are institutions built by man and society to hold it together and they vary from place to place, time to time, they change.
god is forever and is there for me and everyone everywhere every time- constant and absolute. i bow to god not to mortals who claim they are his bureaucracy.

I would turn away from any "religion" for my God. I have felt His presence and I know that He guides me and that His words are written on my heart. No "religion" is going to tell me to give up my God or try to lead me down the wrong path, because I know the path I'm on and it's there only because of God and I want to be on that path.

i think as long as you are at peace with your maker you are fine. he knows how you really feel, you don't need a religion to confirm that, i think some people use religion to make themselves feel better (meaning they go to church on sundays, they feel they have done their deed for the week and the rest of the time they are mean people)
i see it all the time, i have a religion, i don't go to church weekly, but i know where i stand with God, if i feel i need to go to church to pray, i go, i don't do it because i feel i have to, i don't get anything out of it that way and it's just a waste. so i think your personal relationship is the most important!

my relationship w/God b/c no one can ever take that away from me.
your religion should go along with your relationship with him. draw you closer to Him. help you understand the Bible better and help you become a better person.
