Well, Food Network agrees with your theory. Rachel Ray"s $40 a day proves it. Why pay more? I love diner food, it is cheap and good. They often have breakfasts on special for next to nothing. Like two eggs, two sausages, potaoes and toast for 2 or three bucks. They know you will order coffee or juice or both, and will come back again for lunch or supper. One place I used to go to had a jumbo country breakfast for $5.99. It had everything. Eggs, two kinds of meat, potatoes, sausage gravy over biscuits, pancakes or toast. I think the coffee came with it.
Dinner specials can start at 4 or 5 bucks, and it is a full meal, salad, soup, veggie, potato, main dish.
If you were really thrifty, note I said thrifty, not cheap,LOL. you would perk that coffee at home for cheap, and keep a bottle of Creamora and some sugar in your back pack like my friend does. She bought a really well insulated coffee mug, and it stays hot until her break. The corporation we work for provided free coffee, but it was not necessarily good, depended on who made it. I fixed my food at home, and carried it to work. Better food, cheaper price. Cheaper yet, skip the lotto tickets,if I drank, I'd buy a six-pack at the grocery[generic beer, of course] and drink it at home.
And I never patronize the food machines. Expensive.
No, you are not cheap. People who might think you are are wrong. When you count up all the money you saved, and buy Trump Tower with it, nobody will laugh.

if you bought your breakfast lunch and dinner, plus coffee at the supermarket to eat at home you could probably save about 5-10 bucks.
quitting or cutting back on smoking will save you about 1040 dollars a year. (4x5 =20 x 52=1040)
30 bucks a day times 5 is 150 bucks a week
times 52 is 7800 bucks a year.

not terrible, but you could do better

Take your list and calculate the amount of time you have to work in order to buy each item.

You,ve done it in total for the day and week. Do it by the hourly wage for each.

In India, common wage is $3-4 per hour.

A mixed drink is $12.00. Beer is close. WOW! 3-4 hours work for one cocktail?
Tell you anything?

Why don't you bring your lunch or make breakfast at home? You could save some money that way. Food always seems to be better when made at home . Then when you eat out less often it tastes better at those places as well. Hope you got what i meant.

My husband and I don't even spend $30 a day combined. It's cheaper if you're actually cook the food yourself. We don't even smoke or drink; plus, we don't waste money on buying lottery tickets either.
