I have this calloused area on my right big toe that's probably been there close to 6 months. At first I thought it was a wart, so I applied a wart remedy. However, when the medicine would get to the bottom of it, the "wart" would bleed & sting and I couldn't go any further. I'd let it go, and the stupid thing would grow back again.
The other day I was getting a pedicure & the nail tech said she'd work on my "big callous." She shaved it with one of those little razor-like thingees, and then buffed it, and it's much better, but I've had that done before and within weeks the stupid thing is huge again.
Do I have a wart or a callous? What can I do to get rid of it for good??

a callous will heal pretty quickly... a wart won't.

it's probably a wart and it will keep growing back until the root is gone. that's only something a podiatrist can do. they shave it off and then apply some kind of ointment that get's rid of it after a few treatments. if it was a callous, it probably wouldn't hurt and not return again. i'd have it checked out by a doc

Its simple a callosity is always on pressure point.Wart can occur any where.Plantar warts show a central core and black speck like.wart is painful.Callosity is unifomly thick. So check ur foot wear.It could be uneven pressure.

If it is painful then it is wart.

Whatever it is it sure sounds nasty. I hope you're not wearing open toe sandals.
