It is no longer news that the church has divided into countless denominations world wide. Can't say i have anything against that. But my worry is that a christain would rather travel distance to worship in a church of his denomination than worship in another in his locality. If we all believe in Jesus Christ, should we discriminate btw churches? I notice muslims feel at home in any mosque. Why is this so? I need honest answers because its so confusing.

Well, unity over legalism and hate isn't unity, it's just hearing what you want to hear. The only way we should discriminate between churches is based on doctrine. And mainly, where God wants us. :)

Although I don not believe in the Muslim faith, I will say that over all, they are consistent in their beliefs. I think there are only two splits in Muslim belief.

Their are two many splits in the Christian faith. That is why one would rather travel than go to the local. Basically, the problems starts with the fact that many denominations have decided to twist God's word to accommodate what they want. Many have even written their own books to use with or instead of the Bible.

My opinion, a true Christian follows the Bible by every word. If the Bible doesn't condone something, then it is wrong. If the Bible says to do one thing and not another, that's how it should be. No one will be perfect or sinless, but we should be striving to work to be like Christ in all ways.

Also, many churches form to many "CLICKS" and do not make a new outsider feel welcome. Instead they feel intimidated.

I am a Christian and I love all my brothers and sisters in Christ, but we really do have a lot of work to do.

Because not every church will preach the same message. I dont want to be involved with a church that is intolerant and judgemental, I would rather travel miles and miles for a loving tolerant church. The muslims can feel at home in any Mousque because the message is the same no matter where they are.
Cathilocs will go to any Cathiloc church, Mormons to any Mormon church and so forth. But your not going to find a Cathiloc in a Mormon church, because the belief, the practice, the message is diffrent to each faith, and that is the direct result of the break down of the denominations.

Good q. All churches don't believe in Jesus, or the Bible, or basic Christian doctrine-that's the problem. Most Christian churches have very few Christians in them if any. Too much of the world has been allowed in. Some of the so-called protestant churches are holding on fairly well (Baptist, Presbyterian, Independents).
As far as Muslims feeling the same in any mosque-whats the difference if you lose you head in Baghdad or Medina? If Christians in the USA were threatened with death-we would get along a little better -I assure you.

Many times throughout history a new faith formed out of a main group separates due to a failing of the main body. Lutherns are a perfect example, the Luthern denomination was formed because of the corrupt practices of the Catholic church. Granted that was many years ago, but often there is an air of 'we are closer to god than you' when other faiths are known to enter a different denomination. The reason muslums fit into any mosque is the unity of the muslum faith. There aren't any different practices from mosque to mosque, and therefore every muslum can walk into any mosque and pick up right where they left off. This is just my observations though, hope it helps.

Each Church has its own personality, style of teaching, Sunday school programs. To each his own. Some Church's teach the gospel with slight (some moderate some extreme) variations.
As long as the church teaches the essential "Christ the Son of the Living God the Only Savior for mankind" variations are okay.
As far as The Mosque goes you are wrong there are difference between the Sunni and Shiites.

We believe that not every one worships the same God or in the same way. That is why we will travel long distances to fellowship with like believers. As for there being so many different Christian Churches, about 450 world wide, Satan taught us this military tactic ' divide and concur', and that is just what he did. Small differences in interpretation is what divided most of them.

Hello ddreaded.. :)

The reason some travel long distances to attend Church, is because they are drawn there by the Holy Spirit..If ones Spirit is not being fed the word of God, then it would wither away and die..

So it has nothing to do with discriminating against any Church..we must be led by the Holy Spirit to be fed His Holy Word..and He will choose our Church home for us.. :)

The same is said of missionaries..not are all called for that gift..some are Pastors, some Evangelists..we are all called according to His purpose.. :)

In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ..

While there are alot of churches out there, there are also alot of churches that are not teaching from the Bible. By that I mean that the sermon is more expository than supported by specific passages in the Bible. In addition, there are some churches that have some teachings that you may not agree with.

For me personally, I grew up in a Wesleyan church and now that I am attending a Baptist church for my daughter, I have a problem with their eternal salvation teaching. I still attend because her friends are there, but cannot become a member because I cannot agree to that teaching.

Sometimes it deals with what we are raised as. Sometimes it may be that we don't like the pastor or preacher. We all believe a certain way about something.

With me I would feel comfortable going to one of three different types of churches. It does not really matter, though. Best I can do under short notice.

I am a Catholic and when I lived in a small town in Arkansas I drove 12 miles every Sunday to Mass. The little community that I lived in had Assembly Of God, Baptist, and Church Of Christ. Since I believe in true presence in The Eucharistic why would I go to one of them?
