hang on. you should've put your age. if you're above 30 years old and you're 57kg and 160 cm (rare but whatever) you are around a normal weight (or even nearly under it) so you shouldn't be bothering with a diet. if you want to reach fitness eat in moderation and get your fair share of exercise. and like someone said in this you must burn more calories than you take in. if you burn off calories but eat more calories you're bound to put on weight. if you are, like, 11 then i can agree with the above you are overweight and if you really are around 11 you shouldn't be going on a diet. if you are over 30 or even over 20, don't think about losing think about maintaining. you can find stuff like that over the internet. if you are on the under 15 side i think you should loose 1-5 kilos depending on your age. oh yeah, you said you want to reach fitness, if you're already on the way to that your weight could be due to muscle mass so i wouldn't worry about losing anything.

You have to take in less calories than you burn. I know you said you hate to exercise, but there are things you can do that won't seem like much exercise once you make the habit. Obviously, watch your food intake and drink more water. If you feel hungry, drink a glass of water and wait 10 minutes. If it goes away, you were really thirsty rather than hungry. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, park farther away. If you have a home with stairs, make excuses to go up and down them. If you have a lot of groceries, make more trips to take them in the house. Small steps add up to burned calories. Start small. Take a walk around your block. Then do it again tomorrow. Then add a block, and so on. You will find that you look forward to those times to get some fresh air and clear your mind. Hope it helps.

OK, you are slightly overweight. Dieting is not a good way to loose weight. Ofcourse you have to watch fatty and sugary food. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and drink a lot of water. Regular vigorous exercise for one hour everyday will definitely help you to loose weight. Also, stop eating completely before 3 hours of your bedtime. Try this, it'll help.
According to your height and weight your body mass index is 28.
The ideal BMI should be below 25. Which means you have to loose 15-18 pounds (6 to 8 kg) to reach this state.
For BMI you can visit the website below. Enter your height in feet and weight in pounds, it will give you your BMI. Your height is 5feet and 2inches
and current weight is 153pounds. Good Luck.

...not too many! Just remember that muscle weighs more than fat. If you are working out a little, you might switch to measuring yourself around the hips, waist, bust, upper arms, and thigh...this is the real way of keeping track of your conditioning. Good luck ;)
