The unpardonable sin is blaspheming the Holy Spirit.

You know you have committed the sin if you are claiming the attributes and rights of the Holy Spirit as your own. It also acting or speaking in a profane or contemptuous manner, such as deliberately attributing the works of the Spirit to the devil. It is regarded by some as a continued and obstinate rejection of the gospel, and hence is an unpardonable sin, simply because as long as a sinner remains in unbelief he voluntarily excludes himself from pardon.

Matthew 12:31-32 says, "Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or the age to come."

Questions of whether a sin is 'unforgiveable' or not depend on a) your beliefs about the nature of sin and b) the person or entity who you are seeking forgiveness from. With regard to the nature of sin your beliefs might fall into two categories: Either you think that your sin is something real, in which case you probably believe in some kind of religious forgiveness, or you think that sin is an idea made up by human beings, in which case the foregiveness must come from a human being. If you believe in real sin, like a stain on your soul, then you should take comfort in the fact that many (but not all) religions believe that any sin can be forgiven. Christianity is an excellent example of this, but many versions of the Buddhist and Hindu karmic cycles also offer redemption, to name just two more. If you believe in the human idea of sin, then forgiveness must be sought from an actual person who you have wronged or society as a whole. It is their opinion that will determine whether or not you can be forgiven.

Whatever your beliefs, it's pretty certain that in most cases you yourself decide whether your sin can be forgiven. I'm agnostic, so my bias shows through when I say this, but if you're religious then the relevance of that is that you have chosen to take on a particular set of values belonging to that religion. If you're not religious, then you have to answer to your own value system without the comfort of a metaphysical foundation for that system. Either way, the important factor is the way you percieve and relate to your sin. I would argue that if you construct that perception in a positive way, you can recognise that you have done a negative thing and find away to atone for it that benifits you, the person you have sinned against and society as a whole. When you feel that you have accomplished that, that is forgiveness.

If you can question it-you have not. The unforgivable sin is rejection of the convicting power of the Holy Spirit. If you see a bunch of gay people hang around all the time-you need to get nervous. That would be one sign.

First, you need to know what the unforgivable sin is; it takes place in the end times, when believers are to follow the Holy Spirits lead with respect to answering the anti-Christ.

So, no one has committed that sin yet.

If you are alive and still walking around I would say you haven't. The unforgivable sin is rejection of the Holy Spirit, but as long as you can accept Him you haven't committed it yet. Now when you die and get to Jesus and you've rejected then there is something to worry about.

A person who has commited the unforgivable sin is so hard-hearted towards God that he/she doesn't care if they have commited it or not. It's a very bad position to be in.

The question cannot be answered because the idea of sin is a fantasy. What is seen as sin by religion is seen by God as error. All that is expected of you by God is that you correct the error at the next opportunity. No more is required of you. Sin as it is understood by organized religion is no more than a handy control device. Beyond this it has no reality or function.

The unforgivable sin is blasphemy of the holy spirit. To blasphemy the holy spirit is to reject Christ. Pretty cut and dry.
