...because some of the lyrics are disrespectful to women and mothers.

I wouldn't say "evil" is the term I would use exactly. Although, I don't know what I would define rap/hip hop music as. I used to listen to it every day, all day just about but I asked God to help me to stop listening to it and I no longer listen to it. Anyway, I believe that the messages the music sends out is completely wrong. It's mostly about sex, money, and hate, and that's so wrong. Also, most songs have cussing in it which is a sin. Another wrong thing is the music video that goes along with the song. In the videos, normally the girl is wearing hardly any clothes, and she's dancing with a guy (or sometimes girl), in a very provocative way. This is why I believe rap/hip hop is wrong.

Some of it is. Not all, just like not all Hard Rock is evil. There is a lot of Christian Hip Hop that promotes a healthy message and is very encouraging. Now, I don't know why people would think that Christian Hip Hop is evil.
I think you might find the article below interesting. Peacage!

The people who think this are the ones who are miseducated or living inside of the box. People spend so much time criticizing, they do not even take the time to see the good that can come out of it. Most rap and hip-hop songs have a message in them. Not only that, you have to understand why the person is singing about what they are singing about. Life is not red roses for everyone.

Its not evil. There is just so little talent needed to do it. Many, performers use (sample) other musicians music. Then all the fans think they are the greatest. And don't realize how talentless they really are. Most anyone with a computer can make (c)Rap now and days.

It's not the actual music, but much of the lyrics are offensive, insulting, rude. They promote gangster culture, violence, etc.. Many other alternative genres can be bad as well, it's just that rap has a tendency to be the worst in my opinion.

I dont think Ive ever heard it called evil, but I know alot of people dont like it. I think it has to do with the language and denigration of women. Glorifying sex, violence, and drug use area all factors that turn many people( including myself) off from it. I just cant relate to it.

I dunno....rap talks about violence and demeaning women I suppose. I mean plus, the beat and the lyrics are so different from all the other songs from before.

The style of music in and of itself is not evil. It's just the lyrical content IN the music that defiles it.
