No. If it was possible, it would have happened long before now. The plain and simple fact is, voting has NO effect on the political direction of this nation, because ALL politicians are thieves. The only way to change this country at this point, would be an entirely new government, with NO LAWYERS; just average citizens interested in bettering the lives of their communities. Politicians are interested in special interest groups, and lining their pockets with as much taxpayer money as they can get. The way our constitution was ORIGINALLY written, lawyers could not hold office in the congress or senate. They legislated their way around that within 40 years. It's been downhill ever since.

Carter was an ordinary man, farmed, ran for some small offices, then became President. When president he nearly lost the free world to the USSR. He changer the course of the country and sent it downward into a pancake splut.
See how ordinary people can change the world.

Of course, that would depend largely on what you would call ordinary. Any person could change the course of the country, no matter how significant, because we don't completely understand how things are connected. Small events have been known to change drastically the way the world turns, but can "Joe Citizen" change the nation forever? I believe he/she can. It's just a matter of luck and opportunity. Excellent question.
