How old are they? Are they still nursing their mother a lot? If so, they don't need to eat that much.
You are probably feeding them too much if these are older kittens. Only give them a cup of food at a time, and if they eat it all, give them more later (how many do you have?). As for night, kittens are nocturnal animals, so that is not all that unnatural. Just make sure they always have fresh water accessible.
It is possible that they have a tough time eating the food. If it is hard food (kibble type), then moisten it with water a little or crush it some. Do not give them milk, many cats are allergic to cows' milk!
As long as they are active and healthy, don't worry. There is a possibility that they have bad parasites or such, but their overall appearance would be somewhat unhealthy.
Hope this helps!

well remember they only have tiny little tummies. you might want to try some different brands or flavors of food. my kittens get hot water sofened purina kitten chow mixed in with wet food. they also have access to dry all day long with plenty if fresh clean water.
my kittens would scarf all of the food i offered them in the beginning, but now they eat a little and then go off to cause mischief. as ong as they look healthy and are playing then they should be fine. also as they grow they will thin out and look alittle skinny sometimes like a skinny teenager. try giving them a little less so you dont waste the food, and if they finish and still seem hungry then you can offer more. young kittens should be feed 3-4 times a day.

Thats how cats eat, especially kittens that have really small stomachs. I don't understand why tins of cat food are the same size as tins of dog food.
Cats really need frequent mouse sized meals, thats just how they're designed. Put out food little and often in a clean bowl. Don't wash the bowls in the dishwasher, the detergent causes mouth ulcers. A kittens stomach is tiny.
The other possibility is that they don't like the food, make sure you are feeding a good quality kitten food.

They may not be totally weened yet, i would put them back with the mother, make sure the food is there too, they need to know that mom thinks it is OK if the eat as well.

Sounds like they're not weaned yet - what age are they? Putthem back with their mother if you can and present them with Kitten Food when you feed her.
If in doubt, consult a vet.

Cats will eat as and when they feel like it. If you are feeding them wet food, wrap it up and put it in the fridge between feeding times. As long as they are healthy - bright eyes, very active - they are probably getting enough.
