Do you think many of our beliefs were fed to us at a young age and because of this, we deem this as truth even if it's illogical on a grand scale?
If my truth is different than yours and yours is different than mine, does it make it wrong? Or does it mean that everyone's truth is different and we should respect it?

Everyone should have a different truth because each are unique individuals. I don't follow anyone else's version of the truth. I just feel what works for me and incorporate that into my life. "Allow people to believe and live as they choose" is one of my favorite lines to type in this section. People all want to have the right to do this but they also have to give the same respect to others. For some that is hard. For others that is part of life. My other favorite line is "Spread love and light up the world" lol. Love is kind of my religion if I had to label myself with one.

Of course my beliefs "resonate truth" to me. I wouldn't hold them otherwise.

//Do you think many of our beliefs were fed to us at a young age and because of this, we deem this as truth even if it's illogical on a grand scale?//

My folks are Atheists, I'm pagan so I'm going to say "no" given my personal experience.

//If my truth is different than yours and yours is different than mine, does it make it wrong?//

Only if you fail to realize it's intrinsically personal nature and instead try to force it onto others.

//Or does it mean that everyone's truth is different and we should respect it?//

Respect is earned, but I can tolerate most things, provided that it's not infringing on the rights of another.

Since the Bible is my guide. That is the place where I find Truth.

My parents were not Christians and did not give me the truth. They taught me that I was more important than my neighbor. They taught me that is was fine to lie in certain situations...as long as you don't get caught. They taught me that parents have the right to divorce even if it destroys the children's lives.

Since I do believe the Bible, I have had to "undo" what has been taught to me. I know the truth. I'm not perfect, but I try to live by it.

Everyones "truth" is usually different. No, I don't respect every ones truth...because that is illogical. There can only be ONE truth. There isn't my truth and my neighbors truth and your truth.

Either something is right or wrong.

Pedophilia is wrong no matter what. Adultery is wrong...no matter what. Abortion is wrong...no matter what.

It doesn't matter if my government allows me to do it.
It doesn't matter if my neighbor does it.
It doesn't matter if society says it is good or even RIGHT to do it.

There is Truth...and I must obey God Almighty...the one who made the rules.

My belief structure is not something I was taught, or that was handed down to me. I have taken the time to find out what I believe, and why, on my own. My belief structure has taken me almost 14 years to get to a place where I find little question, and feel like it is finally right, for me and with God.

Your truth is not more likley or more true to you than mine is to me. Truth, in this sense, is relative to the person who believes the truth. No, your not wrong in your truth, its all diffrent and should be RESPECTED.

But I have to admit th debate is fun. And on top of that, I like hearing diffrent points of view. I havent learned all I know by ignoring points, but rather considering others may have valid rational things I should know. And thats the process of learning.

Yes
It is tru that some religions are based more on logic and reason then others. These tend to have more Dharma then Dogma. But be carefull some religions are based on subtle truths and make greater sense once they are studied deeper.
As for respecting other religions.
I respect people who study there religion, understand it, and are better people because of it. Not idoits who thump a book they haven't read and have a superiority complex.

Let me just tell you that last year I started going back to college. I took a philosophy class and I destroyed a ton of my preconceived notions including those that I have been "given" by my parents through their beliefs. In doing so, I rebuilt my beliefs and decided what means the best and most to me. Some of those beliefs came back, but they are totally different now. Before, there was just blind faith, now I have a reason for believing what I believe.

Yes, I do believe that is true. Why do you think they have Sunday School, Vacation bible School, etc.? The "indoctrination" needs to begin early. If you hear something enough times, the becomes true, whether it is or not.
If our truths differ, it is only because our perspectives differ. I will always respect the truths of those who respect mine.

Truth can only be truly discovered when there's evidence to back up it's claims. Yes, I was raised to be a Christian, I fell away for a time but God has called me back to Him in a real and more intimate way. I've prayed and researched Christianity to and through and can not find fault for any of it's claims.

I think we should always respect other peoples beliefs and what they hold to be true and keep searching for the truth ourselves

I found truth later in life. I found biblical Christianity to bear peace that only comes with knowing definitive truth.
