Why did prophet Muhammed order Muslims to kill anyone who changes his religion?

All Islamic laws (Sharia) set the punishment for people who convert from Islam to be KILLED. They base this punishment on a prophetical statement told by prophet Muhammed to KILL anyone who convert from Islam [Bukhary:6411; Ibn Maga:2526; Tarmazy:1378; Musnad Ahmad:21007; Nasai'ie:3993...etc.]. They also base this HORRIBLE punishment on a verse from Quran [9:29] that orders Muslims to fight Jews and Christians until they submit to Isam or pay Jazya without raising a finger!

My question is why should god protect his religion by killings? had Islam came with wonderful logical teachings, why should Muslims be much worried about people who convert from Islam?

the order to kill muslim who left islam is true on condition that this apostate is doing something very harmful to islam, just like the crime of treason imposed on a citizen when he denounced his country and sells top secrets to other nations or kill his former countrymen .But IF this apostate is doing nothing harmful , he is left alone. That's the ruling for there is no compulsion in religion, anyone can have his own choice of faith as long as he does no wrong to islam.
convert from islam to another, i just love to do that as long as i find something more logical and truthful than islam. I have been a convert for more than 20 years but still keep an open mind comparing islam with other religion. I know personaly someone who already left islam not because of the teachings but for the superficial reason that he did not economically got better. He was not killed. In fact, when he was still muslim, he was a treasurer in one organization, so, now that he's out, he was still consulted sometimes to clear up some transactions during his tenure. I would even offer my life for his protection if some misleaded fanatic try something foolish on him whenever he is invited for some matters.
Muslims don't worry if anyone would like to go to another religion or no religion. We do not force "membership". People come on their own as I did when i converted to islam.
Many who tried to prove islam is wrong studied first how to disprove the teachings. However on knowing and understanding what islam really is, many instead of attacking islam, joined the ranks of the muslims, thus, there are lots of former priests , nuns, pastors, church ministers, investigative journalist, scientist, military personnel, movie actors/actresses,educators or other highly intelligent people and ordinary people as well are in here.
muslims do not promote violence, as long as diplomacy is attainable, we try to maintain it, but we do not run out of fight in case matters gets heated.We do not turn the other cheek if justice is step on, but islam still encourage understanding and forgiveness as much as possible. Is that wrong?
To kill christian and jews if they do not submit to islam or pay jizya is misinterpreted, for why would muslim kill anyone who don't accept islam when there is a teaching that there is no compulsion in religion. Punishment is imposed not only to christian and jews but also to muslims who do not want to pay some sort of taxes, which is for maintenance of community welfare. If islam truly kills non muslim, then why is it that there are many arab christian communities still existing. Why are all the temples and churches in jerusalem still intact when muslim once conquered totally this areas, leaving the jews and christian community unplundered.

1: Sahih Bukhari 6411 which says:
6411. Nafi', the client of 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar, related from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, cut off the hand for a shield worth three dirhams.

Muhammad ibn Ishaq corroborated it. Al-Layth said that Nafi' related its price.


2: Quran 9:29 (let's read in context)
[9:27] Ultimately, GOD redeems whomever He wills. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.

[9:28] O you who believe, the idol worshipers are polluted; they shall not be permitted to approach the Sacred Masjid after this year. If you fear loss of income, GOD will shower you with His provisions, in accordance with His will. GOD is Omniscient, Most Wise.

[9:29] You shall fight back against those who do not believe in GOD, nor in the Last Day, nor do they prohibit what GOD and His messenger have prohibited, nor do they abide by the religion of truth - among those who received the scripture - until they pay the due tax, willingly or unwillingly.

Now we all know that the person who claims to have all this knowledge about Islam is nothing more than another hate creator between human kind.

Actually when muhamud wanted 2 preach Isam(begining)then he was chased out of Mecca ,then he went 2 Abyssinia where he asked the christian king 2 allow him 2 spread Islam (read history), so he stated Islam but he realized that people were not ready 2 listen 2 him and submit 2 his demands of his religion o,so after having made his group he decided 2 make the rule that anyone who reconverts will recieve death penality.Therfore,2 maintain his ismlamic religion,and 2 increase his muslim community ,thus created by him he bought this death penality rule so that people in general out of fear of themselves being killed will dare not convert 2 another religion.Christianity came long before Islam (read history),In Bible it does not say that in order 2 protect his religion God will kill people.God created humans 2 dwell in this earth .It was only later ,that Mohamed came and made up his own story bk , ....the so called Quran in which he made his own rules abt forced conversions,polygamy,jihad,talak,which muslims believe.

None of the words of the Quran were of Muhammed's (peace be upon him) he was the reciter of what words GOD sent to him so the Book is the literal words from GOD.

The verse you are referring too is not about the Jews and Christians. The verse was about the Pagans that were running the City of Mecca worshipping hundreds of different gods running around naked and doing Paganistic things. The Pagans attacked the new Muslims for 13 years after the Prophet started to receive the revelations and lots of Muslims were tortured and killed and after the 13 years they ran away to seek refuge in Yathrib where the Christian King there wanted to help them as they beleived in GOD and Jesus (Peace be upon him). This city is now called Medina. The Pagans came to attack the Muslims and after so much time the Muslims returned to Mecca and the verse is for this Battle to kill them as the Pagans attacked previously and reclaim GODs house that Abraham (peace be upon him) built and clean it up by demolshing all the fake Idols. Thsoe in charge of the city were afraid and did not want to die so they paid the Zakat (charity money) which was given to the poor familes and a lot of them converted too.

Converts out of Islam rarely exist, any where in the world including the USA, England, Europe, etc. This law exists in most religions but is not enforced. I know Christian friends who converted to Islam and their own parents literally wanted to kill them where the kids had to live in orphanages right here in the USA. Just a note, ever since it's first revelation, Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world; including USA and no one forced me to accept Islam; it's a fun religion, you get over a billion family members.

For one they don't have to pay the jazya tax aslong as they agree to defend the counrty in a war. Jazya is just a way to get out of fighting a war. Muslims get taxed more and still have to defend the country.
