TV emmits gamma rays. This is electromagnetic radiation, and it has the property of polarizing organic macromolecules. According to the shape of the molecule and the frequency of that radiation, polarization is less or more effective.

Testosterone is a hormone, 17b-hydroxy-4-androsten-3-one, it's molecular formula is C19H28O2. As it can be seen in the molecule's structure, it is higly susceptible to polarization, especially under mid-range and high frequency gamma rays.

Polarized testosterone in males doesn't produce extatic feelings or sexual arousal, rather it focus the orientation of the male's sensorial aparatus along the field lines of the emmitted radiation. Theorized effects still unproven of that effect are that man would be enthralled by an atomic bomb that burst near them.

Tested symptoms of testosterone polarization are that

- men tend to move less than women during a CAT-scan, or nuclear magnetic resonance imaging sessions

- male cats and dogs tend to watch TV more often than female pets and, last but not least,

- human males watch too much TV, and don't easily get their focuses away from it.

And women don't?

Guys like TV for the same reasons - TV demands very little interaction and it engages on multiple levels (visual as well as audio) and offers a wealth of choices (many, many channels).

Particularly for men, it offers content that appeals to men (sports, sexual tittilation and innuendo, violence) at the basest level without demanding much mental filtering (why ESPN is more popular than PBS).

However, the same could be said for women - just the content choices are different - soap operas, Oprah, American Idol, Survivor, etc.

It's not just a guy thing - it's an American public thing.

BTW, yes, I'm a guy.

My girlfriend watches just as much, if not more tv than I do. Most of the time though, If she is not watching, and I am, I am watching tv so much to get her to shut the hell up and stop telling me things that I couldnt give two shits about like how her food was prepared at lunch, or how a fax didn't go through at work, etc.. Shut up! I just want to watch the game without all the blah, blah, blah in my ear, woman... That's why!

sometimes us "males" want to avoid annoying <> questions coming from you "females". on the other hand, what`s more relaxing than watching a fun movie when there`s nothing more exciting around. don`t ask why, join us! maybe you`ll like it.

It's not the TV as much as it the remote control. It gives them a sense of power.

Not true, I hate TV. I know many other men who spend their time on other things too. Maybe you need to forget about the stereotypes.
