What audacity? You mean giving up there lives to spread a doctrine of peace and reconciliation....
They died trying to save lives, the message prevails..
The Holy Spirit is God actually living in us, so yes, he was responsible, but no audacity there.

No, at least not entirely. If it was and the holy spirit was a conscious force then the apostles would gain no credit from their ministry.
The spirit walked with them but did not control them
They had to have something within them first, to be open to the gift.
