Well it's been cleverly marketed over the years. They claim to have "historical evidence" that he existed but when you ask to see it, they seem to have other things to do at the time.
It's mythology and big buisness too. Just look at the church collection plate and understand that.
And NO, it's not "history" to say that someone walked the earth when we have'nt got a single shred of evidence to back that up. See? you need evidence or proof if you're going to make a statement like that. And since you have none....

because it is our choice to believe. just as it is yours not to. i could ask the same of non believers. how can so many not see the truth that stares them in the face. how can you totally miss the point. if jesus fell out of the sky and into your lap, would you know it to be him, or would you come up with some other explination. if you live in the dark, you will only see darkness. if you turn on the lights, you will see all that is around you. i dont try to say im right or wrong, i just say i'm me. this is what i believe, and you dont have to believe it. it does not change my beliefs. but if you really care about people, and you believe in something, you want to share it. just as you are doing. so, keep on caring. if and when it is your time, you will see the truth as i have.

To put it simply, (and I won't bother arguing your Jesus is a fraud statement) there is a lot of scientific and recorded history that points toward Jesus' existence. Also, believing in someone who loves you unconditionally, as much as the concept of Santa, fills you with a great sense of purpose and contentment.

Fraud?
How about you drop the hate and anger and actually address the issue you would like to debate?
What pat are you called a fraud, the man certainly existed, look for records of his execution in Roman Records

I have been asking that myself for a very long time. But I think it's something psychological--people have it wired in them to believe in a supernatural being. And if that belief gives them the right to do just about anything you want --obliviate cultures, murder, pillage, enslave (all for the good of the soul, you see)-- then damn, they'er very fortunate to be Christian!

What can be said? the war between good and evil goes on. It will continue until Christ reins personally upon the earth.

Jesus was a real person, and walked on Earth
believe that, even if you don't believe he was the son of God
it's history

people believe because they want hope and they want faith. To me, I dont believe but because many people force themselves to believe that Jesus is to salvation and devote their lives in doing good. But to some reason, many people believe because they dont want to rely on science all the time so they want an alternative decision.
