In the grand scheme of things, those aren't important.
The Bible is a guide on how to live your life and how to walk according to God's wishes. I'm not as good in my Bible as I should be so I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense.
And I do believe they reference dinosaurs in Genesis vaguely - someting about monsters of the deep - during the flood story.

Well, first off, dinosaurs weren't discovered yet, so they would have had no way of knowing to add them in with an explanation. If you are religious/christian, you will say that they were creatures that belonged in the land of Nod (the area outside the Garden of Eden before the expulsion) and that they aren't millions of years old. Discovery of Fire: probably just not thought about honestly. The wheel wasn't part of an invention that had to be included in the Bible. It was discovered after the Garden of Eden, and has no relevant effect on the outcome of the spiritual nature of the Bible.
Hope that helps.

Dinosaurs are mentioned in the Bible. Look in Job 40:15-24. Job mentions and describes behemoth, a land dino. Some may say that behemoth is an elephant, but have you even know a elephant to "move his tail like a cedar" (verse 17). In the whole chapter of Job 41 he talk about leviathan, a water dino that breaths fire (verses 18-21). As for the inventions of fire and wheels... I don't know. While they are important, I guess God didn't think that we needed to know when they were invented.

Fire was already invented, The old testament does refer to dinosaurs and the wheel had already been invented as well.
The purpose of the Bible to to teach people to live a better life, to teach them to live like Jesus, to be good to people and do no harm. Fire s mentioned many times in the Bible, "the Burning Bush" etc. The Bible is not a history book perse, It is an accounting of God and Jesus' work here on Earth.
Was this gentle?

Oh, but they are. The seven days mentioned in Genesis are not actual days but larger periods of time. They encompass the ages and dinosaurs were gone long before Adam, who is generally located at about 3000 BC. Fire and the wheel are not mentioned as inventions, possibly because those who compiled the Bible don't consider them the break throughs we do now.

Dinosaurs are mentioned in the Bible.
In Genesis 1:21 we are told that on day 5 God created the basis for all animal life. Among the categories of animals listed is one named taninim gedolim. Gedolim means big, so we read the big taninim. Pick up 5 different Enlish translations of the Hebrew Bible and you are likely to find 5 different meanings for the word taninim: whales, alligators, sea monsters, even dragons. Yes taneen, the singular of taninim, is a word that appears elsewhere in the Bible and it's meaning is known.
In Exodus 3, the Eternal spoke to Moses from the burning bush and told him to return to Egypt to lead the enslaved Hebrews to freedom. Moses felt incapable of this task, and so the Eternal gave him several signs, one related to his staff. When Moses was told to throw his staff on the ground it became a "nahash"(Ex. 4:3). Nahash is the Hebrew word for snake. After Moses' return to Egypt, when Pharoah asked for a sign, Moses' staff was again thrown to the ground and became a "taneen" (Ex. 7:10). Why didn't it become a nahash, snake?
It's the same staff. The change is first refered to as a nahash, then taneen, then as nahash. We know that nahash means snake from it's use elsewhere. Taneen must be a general category of animals since it appears in the creation chapter of Genisis where, other than Adam, only general categories of life are listed. So taneen must be the general catagory, within which nahash-snake-falls. The general catagory for snakes is reptile. Thus Genesis 1:21 translates as: "And God created the big reptiles...." The biggest reptiles were the dinosaurs.

Actually to tell the truth the main teachings of the bible is to show that How sin entered in this World and how people became sinners... its consequences...God's punishment and blessings on those who were sinful in their nature...and the WAY God has showed us to lead a sinless life and How we can have eternal life and at last the heaven and its glory for those who are with JESUS.
In this teaching Holy Spirit did not feel to add the details about the dinosaurs, the wheels and the spokes. Its like in a Biology book you will not find the trigonometry or algebra.

First, in the chapter of genesis, does it not say animals came before man? Second, the bible also says some people actually lived 999 years. Note that people don't usually even live past 100 in modern days, with better medical care, and better personal care. I would say that inaccuracy, and the bible being a work of fiction would be your answer, but hey that's just me.

I don't know because I have not read the Bible. I'm sure, like you, that those would be important factors when speaking of the creation of life, though. That is an interesting question and I will certainly b checking for the answers others give...

Because all of those things happened befor the discovery of writting. As for the creation story, how could God explain all of those things to people who didn't understand basic concepts in physics such as gravity?
