If it is continuing on throughout the day, I would have him checked out by your physician. He is probably just fine, but it would ease your mind to make sure, and also just to verify that he's not developing some sensitivities or allergies. You don't want to wait until he has a full-blown anaphylactic reaction to something, though I hope that isn't the case!

If you or his father have asthma or allergies, it's more likely that he would have them. If you have recently gotten a pet or something new (carpet, paint, detergents, etc.), he could be sensitive to them. Think about that because they will ask you at your doctor visit.

I hope everything turns out to be negative. You're a good Mom, and wise to be watching for these little symptoms.

Check with your doctor it might be asthma. And if your not sure just don't let anybody smoke or let your baby inhale smoke. My baby is 10 1/2 months old and she doesn't do that. So I don't think it is normal but check with your doctor and hope your baby is fine.

If they have been crying or have a mild cold, they can make a little wheezing sound.

If he has any grumbling noise or coughs with it, you might want to have him checked for asthma or bronchitis, especially if you have smokers in the house, but those would normally be brought on after a bad cold.

In any case, I think it would be wise to banish any smoking from the house. It is never good for babies to be around cigarettes.

First, do you or someone in your household smoke?. The child could be developing asthma. Second, do you make a real big deal and make the situation worst by becoming hysterical. If so try staying calm and see if it continues. Infants his age learn to minipulate us moms early. If he continues after you stay neutral in your emotions, make a doctor appt ASAP to rule out any upper respiratory problems.

My son did this. The doctors just said it was a new noise. He still does it every now again but I've noticed he's looking for a reaction from me. At first, I would freak out and he would just laugh. Ask your doctor to be safe but your child is like mine, it's nothing to worry about.

I would mention it to his doctor and have him checked for asthma. It could be allergies at this time of year, or the start of a summer cold also, but better to be safe than sorry.

my nephew has the same problem he is 13 months old the doc said his vocal cords were under developed and it would just go away on its own but he had a lot of testing before they came to this answer, maybe you should try a ear, nose and throat specialist.

You should go to the doctor. It could be something simple like congestion, or something more serious like a respiratory infection or asthma.
