I am building a small rolling road to test my nitro RC cars out and i am trying to figure out the best way to simulate a realistic resisance for the engine and transmission to work against...

any ideas?

If by rolling road you mean a setup similar to a dynamometer, I assume you want to couple a load to the rollers. One way to do this would be to force a rubber-tired wheel on a spring-loaded hinged axle against the rollers, and mount some sort of drag device like a spring-loaded hinged metal bracket so it presses on the tire.

this is waht you do.... you buy a force probe (from lego :) ) and you measure the coiffecnt of friction from u'r car and asphalt (or ashfault for you americans) and then test various items and match it up
