Tortilla chips and salsa aren't terrible for you, not as much as regular chips and dip. However the amount of sodium is overwhelming. Salsa normally contains around 15% daily value per serving, where tortilla chips are normally around 11%. However, if you eat organic blue corn chips with fresh salsa, the sodium count goes down significantly. Salsa contains a small amount of calories, around 30 per serving or less, whereas tortilla chips are loaded in carbs. So if you get a good salsa with a low sodium count, and healthy chips, I wouldn't say that it is good for you, but it certainly isn't too bad for you if your not on a low carb diet.

Salsa is actually very good for you especially homemade or fresh salsa, not so much the jarred premade stuff due to the preservatives they add. It's the chips that'll kill you lol. Try going for some baked tortilla chips if possible that's at least better than fried over salted bagged chips.

Tortilla chips are fried, so they are relatively high in fat. The salted chips also have a lot of sodium, so they are not very good for you. Eat these in moderation.
Salsa, on the other hand, has tomatoes, which have lycopene and reportedly have cancer-fighting properties. Also, salsa is low-fat, relatively low-calorie and packs in some good veggies.

salsa is general isnt harmful. tortilla chips are more on the bad side of the scale though. the do tend to be salty. but there are a difference between good calories and bad calories when it comes to food that most people dont consider. the good calories will not cause you to gain weight and they will do your body good, the bad calories do you no nutritional good and cause you to pack on the pounds. you can always substitute the tortilla chips with something with more health value. and you wont have a guilty mind about it. most things if taken in moderation dont do you harm.

Well, the chips are fattening but less so then some things like potato chips...salsa has next to no calories and 0 grams of fat, and is made of veggies! If you eat it with tortilla chips that are lowfat, like those Wow ones (or whatever they are called these days), or the lowfat Tostitos ones, they are a reasonably healthy snack, not like veggies or fruit obviously, but hey they taste a whole lot better!!!
