That is just BS to make ugly people feel better about themselves, gorgeous people dont want to date a dog ugly person, they want another gorgeous person to compliment them on their arm.

It's like "Money can't buy happiness" Thats what we tell poor people to make them feel better about themselves

I think there is a magnetism about people from the inside out that draws them. There is something in a person that you see 'in yourself " and that is what draws you. If you are an introverted person, you might be drawn to another who is outgoing - because deep inside you might really desire to be outgoing. Unfortunately, sometimes, it is the very thing that attracts you to someone that can separate you. Example - a young man might really enjoy the company of a very, very pretty woman BUT on the other hand, because of her beauty (what drew him), he might be so jealous that he becomes negative in the relationship and force a breakup. (his insecurity)

Because it's something new to the person on the other side. People don't want to marry themselves (Well some do but we won't get into that!) It's another point of view someone to offer a diffrent opinion. Someone to introduce a new culture and way of life. Someone to bring new knowledge.

It's what makes life great

One person has to make up for what the other person lacks. Also, if two people were alike in many ways, there would be a lot of competition as to who's better at chess, more outgoing, earning more, etc. depending on what the similarities are. (I wonder if that made sense.)

I've always thought it was because we tend to recognize our own faults - the things that make us uncomfortable when scrutinized - in people who share them, and so rather than be confronted with that every day, we tend to seek out people who share none of them.

Also, for some people it can be very refreshing to hear a point of view that you may never have considered simply because your partner is so different from you.

Because sometimes poeple who have opposite personalities can compliment each other. I am very organized but not very adventurous, my husband is the opposite, but we love each other and get along great.
