You can start going to a local buddhist group. Most communities have them. Look in the phone book or on the internet. Sangha or Dharma are good words to use. Asian temples are often buddhist, so you can start there if nothing else. Start reading buddhist books and practicing meditation. If you do it you will become it. And stop going to christian church if you don't want to be christian anymore.

Buddha is fine. Jesus is fine. Ok..now that that is out of the way. Converting to buddhism is easy. Repeat after me...."I am a buddhist"..good....now you are a buddhist. The problem is now you are a buddhist that still has some anger issues with the christian church. Converting to buddhism is easy, practicing as a buddhist is quite difficult. As a buddhist, you look into the darkest and ugliest corners of the mind to find out what your ignorances are in hopes of easing your suffering. Once you find your boogie-men, you must stare them in the eyes and confront that which scares the hell out of you. Buddhism isnt pretty or easy so if your just looking for a quick fix I would try a different path. By the way, sometimes people lie to us because they know we are not ready for the truth. See you at the next buddhist meeting?

Well a priest once visited my Church, who converted to Christianity from Buddhism. Actually, taking into account that Asia is predominantly Buddhist, I would say that around 60-65 % of the Asian population, here in Toronto, are either converts from Christianity to Buddhism, or the children of converts to Christianity, from Buddhism(A fairly large percentage of Asians here in Toronto are Christian, rather than Buddhist, Taoist, etc).

That is unlikely.
Christianity certainly has a healthy share of sheer falsehood in it but changing religion will not bring you peace.
The anger you feel at Christianity rises from the untruths you've discovered in its explanations of the Universe. Buddhism - most notably Zen Buddhism - doesnt even ATTEMPT to explain the universe or any afterlife.
In Zen, NOW is all that matters. Afterlives and "god" are interesting speculations only. They neither believe nor disbelieve them.
You apppear to be seeking an explanation....... you wont find it there. The Zen would say - you are seeking something that can only be supplied by lying. A real explanation - a reliable one - may not exist.

Go to a library and take out a book on Buddhism. Still interested, look in the yellow pages for a Buddhist church / temple in your area. But be asvised there may be Chinese, Japanese, Thai temples that have different kinds of services. Best thing you can do is read as much as you can first.

Unfortunately, that is NOT for sure -- ultimately, you find peace within yourself, regardless of your system of belief or philosophy. I think that some people may find it EASIER to do so with Buddhism, since it focuses more on centering yourself and concentrating on the moment and your internal dialogue rather than a communal experience with a priest directing you, but it is no guarantee that you will find what you are looking for. You must open yourself to the transcendant in order to see the eternal; finding your path, in other words, is not so much casting about until you find the right one, but choosing your direction and making your own.

I disagree with the basic tenets of both Christianity and Buddhism, but my advice is do what makes you happy.
And Buddha and Jesus are both dead.

You are exchanging the Truth for a lie. I suggest you go to a good church and speak with a pastor before you make a final decision like this. Buddha is dead. Jesus is alive! Who would you rather pray to -- someone who is dead and can't hear you or Jesus who hears every prayer?
