YOU NEED TO START WORKING OUT. Your body is bored once you start sleeping long hours your body thinks you need it. Another words you have trained your body to think it needs 18 hours of sleep.
It is just like when you sleep to much the only cure is to go back to bed. If you keep doing that though you metabolism will slow you will start gaining weight losing muscle.
It isn't good get up and get moving.

If you are aware that you are dreaming, you are not in a true state of sleep. You sound to me like you have a serious sleep disorder and need to see a sleep specialist, have a sleep study done, and get HELP.
My husband and I both have sleep disorders, as do our children. They can make you miserable, because you only heal properly when you are sleeping properly.
The GOOD NEWS is that most sleep disorders are quite easily treated!
Good luck, and God bless. I wish I could hear about how you resolve this.

Maybe start slightly cutting back and hour or 30 minutes of sleep gradually thru a period of time. Thats what I did when I was sleeping overtime! I don't think you have a disorder or depression...I just think that you can gradually cut back 30 minutes to an hour each day and see if that helps! Good luck!

Honestly, my personal experience with this suggests the possibility that you may be suffering with depression. Your university should have a medical center or office. Make an appt.
You can be depressed without knowing it.

I did that when I got pregnant. I'd certainly look into the the possibility of an endocrine problem. The doctor should probably run a series of tests.

What university teaches writing like that? You are a college student? That is sad.
Don't sleep, find something else to do.
