don't towel dry it when you get out of shower, i have thick curly long hair and it makes it frizzy.I also, only air dry as diffusers on my hair make it look like crap. i also use springing curls by l'oreal and pantene hydrating curls shampoo and conditioner and so far, so good. I do not get the expensive stuff at the salon cuz i'd rather buy a bunch of hair products than just one or two that i can afford at a salon. The other day at walmart, i bought this new stuff that is called herbeal essences shimmer spray gel. you spray it on your hair and it shimmers. its nice. Stay away from curls rock....I got that stuff and it made my hair stiff. I love when i go to the beach or the pool, my curls dry nice and look so awesome with nothing in them , but if i do that when i get out of the shower, it is frizzy unless i put products on it, go figure!!! Do not touch your curls after they dry, as well... scruch em a little when you put products in it and twist the curls around your finger to make it more defined. Then do not touch anymore. hope i was of help

I have naturally curly hair down to my waist too. I know what a hassle it can be. I wear mine in a ponytail, bun, or a flip. A flip is where you pull your hair through the ponytail however many times you need to. If it is thick and you wrap it around like 4 times then you pull it through 3 times. Then you pull it halfway through on the last time. You should have hair hanging down on the bottom kinda like a bun. Then you take that hair and pull it around to the top of the bun. Then you part the hair and you have a flip.

if you use anything from salons, supermarkets and drugstores, you're going to fry your hair more, because of all the synthetic ingredients and alcohols. You should buy 100% jojoba oil (GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, Health food stores), and it gives your scalp moister and hair with a non-greasy feel, it mimics the oils that scalp is missing, and gives you hair such a healthy shine, it calms down the frizz.....comb your hair only when it's wet or damp, don't comb your hair dry because that just adds more frizz.

Get a smoothing cream like Matrix color safe smoothing cream. After you shower towel dry your hair really well, just until it is barley wet. Then comb the smoothing cream into your hair very well! After your hair is dry add some smoothing oil, like Biosilk and work into each curl! This will lock in moisture, but lock out the frizz! Believe me, I have naturally super curly thick hair!! This works wonder!!!

It sounds like you need a haircut, and some good products for curly hair! I have heard that Quidad makes some. Or there is something called "Curls Rock", I am not sure who makes it.
