Yes there is only one way, Jesus.
John 3:16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. 19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
John 5:24"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. 25I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. 26For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself. 27And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.
28"Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29and come out—those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. 30By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.
John14:6Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."

You are correct. The Bible teaches that Jesus is the only way to heaven. For example, John 14:6 states, "I (referring to Jesus) am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father, except by Me."

To understand the true meaning of the verse “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”. You need to first understand that all words cannot be accurately translated from Aramaic (Jesus’ language) to English with 100% accuracy.

Aramaic is what is called a root language and consisted of about 10,000 words at the time of Jesus. It is difficult to accurately translate these root languages into a language like English with many hundreds of thousands of words. There are often many choices in English with subtle differences for every word in Aramaic so you need to be sure exactly what the intent of the person speaking was. Example, there is no way to translate “do what you see me doing” from English to Aramaic. The translation comes out, as (I am the way). So when the disciples ask Jesus what the surest way to heaven was, his reply would have been “I am the way”. Meaning Follow my example, or do the things that you see me doing.

This has been completely misrepresented by modern religious types to mean something almost the opposite of what Jesus intended when he spoke these words. Rather than the obvious and logical directive to emulate his stellar example of how to properly treat others (“love your neighbor”) it has been reduced to making some statement about accepting Jesus as your lord and savior. Something Jesus undoubtedly could have cared less about.

It is difficult to understand how anyone could look at the life of Jesus and not see that simply following his example would be the best way to bring one closer to God.

I suppose it is all subject to interpretation. The Bible is a compiled manuscript from many different sources written in Aramaic, Hebrew, Greek, and even Latin. All had to be translated, and many were translated copies of other languages. How we get to having a manuscript that every word has an exact meaning is so subjective that the only thing you can do is force it down peoples throats by saying that you have to have faith in it being what God actually meant. That is a pretty far stretch for the intelligent mind.

You are absolutely right, the King James Bible teaches that the only way to heaven is through the son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins that who soever believeth in Him should not parish but have ever lasting life. We are all sinners, and need to repent and ask Jesus into our life and believe with all our hearts. Confess our sins. God loves us all and wishes know one to parish.

Well theres' two contracts still in place. Like, the old covenant- the one given to the Jews- is still in pace. But yea, the new covenant states that Jesus is the way the truth and the light; through belief in him there is salvation- Jn; 3:16.
