also what opens the file extention .sfv?

They are similar to zipped files. They are compressed files that are used in the setup of your Zoo Tycoon game. You cant open them. The only way to open them is if your setup program for zoo tycoon decompresses the files during their installation process.
You might want to try and download/install http://www.download-zone-free.com/winrar/ I know they decompress extensions that start with .r01 and .r02 files, so if they are the same format, then you might be able to use that.

Since the game is a M$ game My bet is that they are CAB files or compressed files (like a zip file) that can only be opened with the install program that is on the game disk. You should probably look for the same file name with a .exe on the end

ask the person that gave them to you, they seem to be parts of a larger archive, BUT there are so many zipping porograms out there. It doesn't look like any extension I know.
try winrar, 7-zip or zipgenius

There must be at least one '.rar' file. Then WINRAR will open and extract these files into one folder.
Else PKZIP or PKUNZIP would work.

You use ZooTycoon to open them. They would be meaningless garbage in anything else.
