This ones really easy: Sin.

When Adam and Eve were in the garden, they had no sin. When Eve ate the apple, and then Adam, God cast them out. They had eaten of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. They knew sin. Through the blood line, their children knew sin and so on. ALL sin. Before Cain and Able, there was no murder. Homosexuality is a sin, just like anyother, and thats how it came to be.

Or, look at it another way. Men left to their own devices, will find a way to find pleasure, so it came naturally once they knew sin.

Homosexuality was first recorded (I believe) when Noahs sons took advantage of him, both homosexuality AND incest. SO to say its been around since almost the beginning of time is accurate.

Now they say its genetic, but thats not the case for everyone. Is that just science way of trying to cut down on the persecution of homosexuals? Maybe, because many will admit they choose it. If it is genetic, is that a mutation of genes? Possibly. Or could it be due to the first sin, the original sin, that some really are born to be that way?

The so-called "cause" of homosexuality has not been determined on any scientific basis. I hold that some have a same sex proclivity, (this could give you a double blind result) others are homosexual by choice (if indeed any of us have one) and still others by circumstance. The level of incidence we have in society today, worldwide, means that learned response is now a factor. There are also spiritual (psyche) causes which need to be addressed by individuals and collectively.

I don't know if we have enough time left to treat homosexuality as a case study. Both heterosexuality and homosexuality share the mutually sick ground of the human libido.

Just recently we were asked to answer a question from Stephen Hawking concerning sustainability for the human race over the next hundred years. This might tell you that some of the finer minds see problems concerning the quality and state of our existence in the immediate future. Issues of homosexuality may be the least of our problems shortly.

Finally your question relates back to Adam and Eve and assumes that from such a pair there would come no homosexuals? The facts of the story would be more to your point. Cane and Abel where half brothers. We all come from the same mother. We do not all have the same father.

must have been a result of incest, well i mean their children had to grow up so what do they do when it was only two brothers born first and they were feeling randy and were waiting for little Eve to grow up!

Is it such a bad thing that there are gays in this world? Would you rather we reverted back to old fashioned views where you had to confirm to the strict rules of society that was regulated by quotes from the Bible and the people shouting the quotes were so backwards that they thought black people should sit at the back of the bus or worse walk never mind being homosexual that was never mentioned as it was such a tabo!

Whatever happened to the 10 commandments they always get over looked when people start to judge the morals of being gay and question where they fit into society, doesnt the 10 commandments clearly state something about "love thy neighbour!" Or do you send an email to God asking for a modern day version? . I know I am going off on another direction here but when you consider that the troubles in Ireland centred on catholic and relegious views, they must have forgotten the 10 commandments!! "Thou shall not kill" well that was a big one to forget considering all the people who got killed in the troubles.

Suggestion, treat others how you would like to be treated and dont judge others whatever their circumstances and rememeber we are all according to the Bible Gods children!

Ps I am not a practising catholic

Homosexuality is far from a phenomenon. It didn't just pop into the world. The fact that it was even mentioned in the Bible should tell you that it was a concern to him back then.

Man coming from Adam and Eve has nothing to do with sexual orientation. Only women can bear children using man's help. How that child turns out sexually isn't affected by the fact they were born from man and woman because there are no other variables to consider.

Here is something to consider...
Is being gay a choice or is it born in? Why would it be so hard to believe that it is born into gays, and that we all have a little bit of what they have. Children are born with many defects, down syndrome, missing fingers, many other birth defects. Studies have shown that homosexuals have more of one chromosome in them. If this is the case, then it is very believable that gays are born gay, not turned gay.

Now with that, I don't want any gays to think I am comparing you to anyone with a birth mental defect - only showing that you can be born gay since it is technically, a defect in the DNA.
I.E. I suffer from migraines. I didn't my whole life, they started when I was 12. However I was born with this, there is a defect in my DNA that causes this. So I was born with this even though it was 12 years after that I showed any signs of having migraines.

Let's lighten up on gay people.

Being gay has been around for thousands of years, just no one admittted it. The closet was locked and shut.

To answer your question, homosexuality is a behavior, not a state of existance, or a genetic trait. So, anyone in Adam's lineage could have chosen to have same-sex intercourse.

And Psykaotic is wrong. Cain and Abel were not Adam and Eve's only children. The bible specifically says Adam had other children. In fact, people in the bible were living to ages of several hundred years. There are several theories around as to why this was the case, but the point is that over such a long lifespan, is it realsitic to imagine they were not having children for a longer period of time? Adam and eve probably had dozens of kids.

I cannot tell you exactly how or when it happened. I can only bring together for you the teachings in the Bible that shed light on the subject.

Man was created to be monogomous. Only one woman was made for Adam, and he was declared to be whole. You will find this in the first few chapters of Genisis. At some point after the creation of man (and woman), man sinned. The Bible teaches that this sin nature was/is passed on to all people (Romans 5:12). As an example, did you have to be taught to lie? We just somehow learn to do it on our own!

Not much is said concerning this until we get into the new Testament. In 1 Timothy 1:10, speaking of sinful man, it says in the Geneva Bible, "10 To whoremongers, to buggerers, to menstealers, to lyers, to the periured, and if there be any other thing, that is contrary to wholesome doctrine," The word "buggerers" is an archaic word for homosexual. So you see, according to the Bible, homosexuality came into the world as a result of sin.

As another responder has noted, since the Adam/Eve tale is an erroneous myth. you have a flawed premise. But that does not detract from interest in the subject.

We do not yet know the genetic or environmental basis for homosexuality. It would seem to be genetic, and would be considered a genetic flaw as it is obviously not conducive to reproductive success. However, there is some recent evidence that younger siblings have more tendency toward homosexuality than older ones, so some environmental factors may be at work. Notwithstanding, I have a number of homosexual friends and associates, and aside from their peculiar sexual preference, they are perfectly normal, delightful people.
As genetic analysis continues to decline in cost, there may be increasing interest in trying to determine what genetic commonalities there may be among homosexuals. Stay tuned.

you have to understand genetics and DNA.. when cells split normally they get same DNA as the parent cell.. egg and sperm only get half the DNA of their parent cells so when they combine they have a full set, but some from each parent.. when sperm and egg cells are forming their is always a small chance for change, an error in the division, sometimes they get too much from one or not enough. This is how all changes in evolution occur - simply a matter in DNA errors, if the error is strong and has some benefit it survives, if they error is weak it probably wont survive in nature - however humans are quite unique since our brains have provided us with other ways to stay safe...
Anyhow so homosexual genetics are an error from before birth in many (but not all cases) sometimes events trigger this behavior, like a boy being raped, he feels dirty and falls into the pattern becuase his emotional development was messed up at an early age....
some woman turn to lesbianism because they are just sick of mens crap and find comfort with women more to thier liking, you can tell which women were genetic lesbians and which "switched" based on their body shape which is also effected in DNA for female lesbians

True, Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. Yet, through their disobedience in the Garden of Eden, sin was born. Out of that sin, came homosexuality and many others.

So, by one mans disobedience many are going to be lost. This is why obedience, even today, is so important. It affects later generations for sometimes EVER.

Sorry it isn't long, but it's all I've got and I think it says it all! 8=)
