I started working out and limiting my calorie intake to between 1600-1800 calories (down from about 2800) 2.5 months ago. I never had trouble with constipation in my life, now the past two weeks I've had trouble, I'm worried.

It happened to me when I entered basic training. Your recent diet probably has something to do with it. If conventional over the counter medicines dont work, contact a doctor.
