We used to alternate between the sauerbraten and the viner schnitzel. The fried potatoes with a side of gravy was heaven. Plus of course the creamed spinach. Except during the last few years, they put too much red pepper in it, it should not be that hot!

My favorite: the rahm schnitzel (breaded pork cutlet), served with an excellent sauce, though somewhat oddly colored orange due to the mix of mushrooms, white wine and tomato sauce. Sadly, the Berghoff Restaurant closed on 2/28/06 but they still have the bar open and I'm not sure if they serve their full menu in there.

I'm afraid Berghoff's restaurant has closed. It's a bit tragic. I did like their sausages.

Happily, Berghoff's brewery continues on, and makes a few very good beers of different color and consistency.

The schnitzel I remember having a long time ago. Also remembered the rye bread and snotty waiters!
