You sure can, and no offence but assuming you not one for spending about £1,000 on a printer sever the best and cheapest method for a home system would be to network the PCs together, and then install the printer software on both PCs.
Having done that it should be fairly easy for the system to recognise the new device if not I suggest you ask very nicely for a i.c.t technician to help you out, but it shouldn't take long...

another method - not sure if it has been meantioned, would be to set up a bluethooth connection with the printer being searched by both pc's. Most modern Pc's and printer already have this feature so it should be easy to set up. Go to contol panel and search under hardware and bluethooth.

some options...

1) You can daisy chain the computers by connecting them together via ethenet card and have one computer host the connection to the printer.

2) You can server/router with a printer connection and have your computers plugged into that as well as your printer.

What I did was bought a US Robotics wireless router with a USB printer port. US Robotics wireless router supplied an address for the printer once I plugged that in and I added that printer address to all my computers in the house and now I can print from anywhere wireless within my home.

If both machines are on a network, simply connect the printer to one PC and share it. Then, connect the other PC to the shared printer.

If you're not on a network, try getting a printer switch. It's just a box that allows you to switch the connection from one PC to the other.

One way is to link the printer to one PC, and hook up the other one to that PC by network and set the printer to be shared.

To put two or more computers to one printer you have to set up a network to do this. Click on Start then click control panel then click network and internet connections then click on network set up wizard and then click on next and then follow on screen instructions. Hope this helps.
