They first dehydrate the embryo to remove the water, that way when it is frozen, no ice crystals form, which is what would kill it.

The cell division process gets halted as the cell changes state from liquid to solid. The cells are kept bacteria free and so survive the process until neccessary.

they go under dorment condition------------cell wall breaks and cell lose all cytoplasim contents except DNA only DNA survive without any metabolic process
