It took me many years to find my way out of the "maze " ! lol
If you are fortunate enough to be someone who works from home all the time you could move to a nice secluded area...depending on where you are ! I work from home and when the weather suits me.... I work from my boat. No planes...trains...or automobiles involved. I'm sorry there are soo many people trapped in the rat race. Good luck.

Your right in saying that your not delerious, unfortunatley you are delusional about how the world works. So basically what your saying is that you have assembled some basic outdoor supplies, watched a fluffy wuffy movie about nature and you've even watched survival experts on television. Now that you have all this experience your ready to live off the land in perfect harmony with nature. This probably isn't going to happpen quite the way you think it will. You'll end up out in the woods for a few days at best, then when you get hungry you'll be back on your Momma's porch begging for some food. Even if you did stay more than a few days you would only discover that the splendor of nature only lasts until you get bored of looking at trees and listening to birds chirp their brains otu all morning long. If you hate society that much maybe you should get some therapy instead to help you fit in a little bettter.

Only RATS are in a RAT race. If you do not enjoy being a RAT anymore try Yoga or Tai Chi classes. Either of them will teach you how to get out of the race and still win. Good Luck !

Try a get away for a few days to a rural area where the pace is slow and people talk with that long slow drawl. Perferrably where you stay in a cabin, no telephone, no tv. Just enjoy nature and what God gave you! It is a great relaxing experience. I don't know what State you are in byt try your State Parks. Most have excellent places for just such a get away from the rat race. It is very refreshing!

Go to the West. Visit and enjoy the vastness of the Rocky Mountain West. Denver, Rocky Mtn Natl Park, Vail, Aspen, the Continental Divide and much, much more. Or, Yellowstone Natl Park in Wyoming. You'll return home with a sense of excitment and having been lifted up by the magnificence of its beauty and history. Good Luck.

I don't know if you're looking for a long-term solution or a short-term one, so may I offer a short-term solution: (which is what I do when I'm hating everyone and everything)
Find a quiet river or stream somewhere...follow it until you find a nice place to sit on the bank. Now sit there, and just listen.
Listen to the wind rustling the leaves and grass, listen to the different types of birds singing their songs, listen to the bubbling water, and just enjoy the silence and peace-fullness of it all. It's like you're in heaven.

Stay off interstates...they are where the "races" are.
Go camping away from people and traffic.
Enjoy nature and read a good positive book.
